  • Bretton Woods

Bretton Woods is a resort area in Carroll, New Hampshire that is encircled by the White Mountains and the Pemigewasset Wilderness. The area has two points of interest: Mount Washington Hotel, which opened in 1902, arousing the interest of tourism to the area; and Mount Washington Cog Railway, a train that climbs the mountain on a scenic trip to heaven. Bretton Woods, also known as Twin Mountains, explodes with year-round activity. The cool, clear waters of the Ammonoosuc River entice swimmers and anglers to its shores for summertime pleasures. Skiing is the most popular winter sport in the area.

  • Lincoln

The small town of Lincoln is steeped in wild west history, its colorful past painted by the Apache Indians and characters such as Billy the Kidd and Kit Carson. Interestingly enough, the town of Lincoln has shunned the plastico fast food and motel franchises that have sprung up almost everywhere else in New Mexico and visitors will find only locally owned dining and accommodation options are available here. In addition to Lincoln's history and heritage, the rolling grasslands and foothills of the Sierra Blanca Mountains incorporated in the Fort Stanton Recreation area spread to the west of town, offering visitors to this area a good variety of recreational opportunity.

  • Meridian

Meridian boasts nine unique historic districts and neighborhoods. One such district is the Meridian Downtown Historic District. Glorious architecture seems to be found around every corner, making exploring Meridian an exceptional treat. Visitors will enjoy Meridian's variety of quaint shops positioned along well-landscaped streets. Specialty shops, cafes, antique stores and galleries are just some of the places waiting to be explored. Bonita Lakes, a city run park, features a 3,800-acre lake, perfect for fishing, swimming, and all water-sports. Nature trails make for a relaxing walk, and the Lakeview Gold Course is the perfect place to break out those clubs.

  • North Conway

North Conway rests in the arms of Mount Washington Valley in the rugged New Hampshire countryside. Over the years, it has been the model for landscape paintings and the focus of year-round tourism. This snappy New England village is sparked with outdoor activities, heart-throbbing beauty, delicious dining, and plenty of fun shops.

  • Philadelphia

As the state's largest urban spot, Philadelphia offers an array of shopping and antiquing, historic monuments and state parks and the state's largest museum, The Philadelphia Museum of Art. An hour from New York City and the Jersey Shore, Philadelphia is prime for planning a multiple destination trip, sunning, shopping and sightseeing all at once.

  • Port Gibson

During the Civil War, Port Gibson is said to have spared destruction because General Grant felt it was "too beautiful to burn." Whether true or not, there is no doubt that the small town of Port Gibson offers a certain, undeniable charm. Many antebellum homes are open year round for touring. Visitors will discover friendly people, ready to share their Port Gibson pride. This is a fine venue for antique shopping.

  • Vicksburg

As a result of its importance during the Civil War, Vicksburg is somewhat of a mecca for history buffs. The Vicksburg National Military Park nearly encloses the city. The well-preserved battlefield includes over 1,000 historic monuments, and a remarkable 20 miles of trenches. Visitors are encouraged to cruise the mighty Mississippi and enjoy Vicksburg from the unique vantage point offered by riverboat. Carriage tours, walking tours, and spooky ghost tours make for an interesting way to learn about the fascinating history of this town. Vicksburg's Spring Pilgrimage (late March to early April) offers visitors a remarkable and unique opportunity to become familiar with the city's past through tours of its distinctive homes.

  • White Mountains

The White Mountains are the second highest range in the state. Camping and fishing is plentiful in this high mountain area with several stocked lakes, and most years there is sufficient snow for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing at Sunrise Ski Area.
