Description

This beautiful recreation area is located on the banks of a 200 - acre lake located 4 miles from the Natchez Trace Parkway. Camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, boating and limited water-skiing are offered along with numerous trails.

The lake is fully stocked with bream, crappie, largemouth hybrid striped bass, and catfish. Davis Lake can be fished by boat or by shore. There are several land piers, along with the full face of the levee to fish from. Numerous gravel beds can be reached by rod and reel from the shoreline.

Davis Lake features 24 camping sites with water and electric hookups. It also has a primitive camping area. Thirteen of the camping sites can be reserved through the National Recreation Service at their toll number: 877-444-6777. Each camp site has a grill and a picnic table. There are toilet facilities with hot showers and there is a sewage disposal station near the entrance of the recreation area.

Picnic areas are available surrounding the lake. Tables at the picnic shelter can be reserved by calling 662- 285-3264.

Davis Lake offers a very nice swimming area. There is no swimming after dark and no swimming out of designated areas. No lifeguard is on duty at Davis Lake. Fee information is located as you enter the recreation area.

Water skiing is only permitted on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Federal holidays from 12 P.M. until sunset. All other times Davis Lake is a No Wake Lake. No water skiing is allowed beyond buoys. There is one boat ramp located at Davis Lake.
